I was a bartender at Buffalo Wild Wings. Casey (my fiancé) came in really late one night to my bar with another woman. He was being extremely rude complaining about the food and no matter what I tried to do to make it better he just kept complaining.
Finally, I had enough of his attitude, gave him his check, and told him in some less-than-lady-like words to pay his bill and get off my bar!
He came in the next day and apologized to me. He said, “I’m sorry for the way I acted last night. I was raised better than that.” I accepted his apology and apologized for my own choice words.
Then, he asked me to dinner. He said, “I would really like to take you to dinner for the way I treated you.” I said, “No. You don’t get a date for being a jerk!”
He said, “Okay. Then I am going to prove to you that I am not a jerk and that I am a nice guy worth going out with.”
He came in every single Wednesday during my shift for the next two months! He would help me close the bar down by sweeping and putting the chairs up on the tables.
Every week he would ask for my number and every single week I would tell him no.
One night, he told me his birthday was coming up. He was going to play a golf tournament in Atlanta, but he asked me to send him a birthday text. At first, I was reluctant, but I eventually caved in and promised to send him a birthday text.
He said, “So I need your number then.” I said, “What?” He said, “If you’re going to text me on my birthday then I need to know your number so I know it’s from you.”
I said, “You tricked me!” But since I promised him a text, I ended up giving him my number.
I sent him his birthday text and when I finished working that night I decided to ask him out for drinks. He later told me, he grabbed his golf clubs, said goodbye to his friends and hurried to meet me.
We’ve been inseparable ever since.
We’re getting married April 8th.
