I have always been a huge Harry Potter fan and it’s been on my bucket list for years to go to universal studios and see Harry Potter world.
This year Eli (my now Fiancé) and I decided to spend Thanksgiving in Florida with my sister and brother-in-law since they had recently moved to New York and we hadn’t seen them in a while. Conveniently, where my family lives is just a short drive away from Orlando so we made sure to plan a trip for the four of us and needless to say, I was pretty excited about it!
I remember making the comment in the car to Eli saying “You know, we should just get married here,” and getting the response back, “That’s a terrible idea.” I was kidding…kind of. The whole time we were there I was so excited about everything around us at the park that I was pretty much oblivious to anything else going on. I was just concerned with being able to take it all in and when we stopped to take our picture together I didn’t even catch on to the fact that my sister and my brother in law both had two phones in their hands.
When I started to realize it was taking them forever to take the picture, he leaned in and said to me “So do you remember how you said you wanted to get married here?” That was when I turned to look at my best friend down on one knee at platform 9 ¾ asking me to be his wife; making my first trip to Universal definitely everything I hoped it could be.
